March started with an adult sewing day making a Shamrock Wall hanging.....
It only looks easy...."Free motion quilting" was taught!
The following week was a quilting retreat with ladies from many areas.
They completed some show stopping quilt tops in 5 days! They were taken to lunch, treated to a massage, and meals. We all had fun creating and relaxing.
The next week was sewing camp for youth. A shopping day was required to get necessary fabric at the new quilt shop in Green Valley "Quilt Central Studio". Lori, the owner was very helpful and the shop is great. She carries many iconic fabrics of the desert.
All students were excited to pick their own fabric, charm packs, and thread.
We then hit the studio sewing machines. Small and large bags were made as well as pin cushions and table runners. I found out they have a desire to make quilts. This may be done in April.
Now that you have read this far, let me introduce you to April's fun times..... April 9th at 1pm we will begin a block of the month quilt. Each month we will make a themed block using different techniques. You will pick up your kit, ahead of time, at Quilt Central Studio (already pre-cut), then we will construct the block at my studio. In 12 months we will have made a beautiful fun holiday quilt top. I will teach how to complete it. Here is the first block and sample quilt look.......
